Old Pulteney – 40 Year Old Bottled 2012 (70cl, 51.3%)

This is a 40-year-old Old Pulteney, a Highland single malt bottled by the distillery in 2012 in a limited edition of 493 bottles. It is bottled at its natural cask strength of 51.3%, without colouring or chill filtration, in a 70cl bottle. The whisky matured in Spanish ex-sherry casks and American oak ex-bourbon casks. It remains the oldest official single malt bottling from the distillery, which was then the most northerly on the Scottish mainland. The hand blown bottle is closed with a polished Caithness stone stopper and comes in a lacquered presentation box.
