Ondjaba Signature Edition #1 is a limited Namibian whiskey distilled from four grains: mahangu millet, barley, wheat and maize. It comes from the Erongo Mountain Winery, run by Wolfgang and Esther Koll, where the grain for Ondjaba is smoked over elephant dung.
It matured first in red wine casks, and the whiskey was then split, half finished in fortified Chenin casks and half in 'Juwel of Namibia' brandy casks.
Delicate dried apricot and gentle smoke are the notes associated with it. It won a gold medal at the New York International Spirits Competition in 2024.
