Old Blowhard is a 26 year old Kentucky straight bourbon from Diageo's Orphan Barrel project, which bottles aged American whiskeys that had been set aside. It comes from the Stitzel-Weller Distillery in Louisville, in a 75cl bottle.
The whiskey matured in new American oak, and the mashbill is 86% corn, 8% barley and 6% rye.
The nose is charcoal, honeyed oak and vanilla beans. On the palate there is caramel, marzipan, buttered toast and candied oranges. The finish is smooth and oaky, with a hint of sweetness and lingering citrus and chocolate.
