Pappy Van Winkle 15 Year Old is a wheated bourbon from the 2009 release, made to the Van Winkle family recipe and bottled at barrel proof in a 750ml bottle.
It was distilled entirely at the Stitzel-Weller distillery and aged for 15 years, giving a smooth oak character. Its colour is a hazy copper.
The nose is caramel corn and vanilla. The palate brings leather, oak and a complex fruitiness, with intense caramel, toffee and peppery brown spice. The finish is long and complex, with spice and oak tannins.
