Pappy Van Winkle's Family Reserve 20 Years Old is a Kentucky straight wheated bourbon from the 2007 vintage, distilled at the Stitzel-Weller Distillery in Louisville and sold in a 75cl bottle. Pappy Van Winkle led Stitzel-Weller, where his wheated bourbon recipe established the modern category. This bottling is 100% Stitzel-Weller whiskey, aged for 20 years. It is dark amber with hints of dark orange. The nose brings oiled leather, smoke and cigar box, and the smooth palate adds citrus zest, sherry, dried fruits and vanilla. The finish is long and elegant.
