Orphan Barrel Rhetoric 25 Year Old is a Kentucky straight bourbon and the final release in Diageo's Rhetoric series. It was distilled at the Bernheim distillery in Louisville and is bottled at 45.1% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The bourbon was recovered from warehouses where it had sat forgotten for decades, and it spent 25 years in new charred American oak.
The nose offers dark fruit, leather, tobacco, caramel and aged oak. The palate is rich, with dried fruit, dark chocolate, vanilla and firm wood tannin, and the finish is long and drying, with oak and dark fruit lingering.
