Peerless Double Oak is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co. in Louisville, bottled as Batch 25. After a minimum of four years in its first barrel, it is re-barrelled in a second new charred oak cask.
It is made by sweet mash fermentation and bottled at barrel proof with no water added, at 109.7 proof (54.85%). It is non-chill-filtered and comes in a 750ml bottle.
The nose is sweet oak, orange zest, cedar, tobacco and herbs. The palate is full-bodied, with honey sweetness turning to cinnamon, spicy oak, leather and earthy depth. The finish is long and viscous, with toasted oak and dry cocoa.
