Peerless Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon (75cl, 54.5%)

Peerless Small Batch is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co. in Louisville, in a 750ml bottle. It is bottled at barrel proof with no water added, at 108.9 proof (54.45%), and is non-chill-filtered. The distillery revived the historic Peerless name, and the bourbon is made from grain to bottle using a sweet mash, with fresh water and grain in every batch rather than backset. The nose combines citrus, cedar, honeysuckle, caramel and spicy oak. The palate shows caramel and toasted oak, then brown sugar, cinnamon, dry cocoa, leather and chocolate covered cherry. The finish is long, with sweet citrus, florals, oak, cocoa and spice.
