Pfaffl Hasen Rosé

Hasen is an Austrian rosé from Pfaffl, made entirely from Blauer Zweigelt. The grapes come from the In Neubergen vineyard, a steep south-facing slope above the Korneuburg Basin with sandy loess soil and vines of about 22 years old. The grapes are pressed lightly and left on the skins for around 24 hours. The wine ferments and ages in stainless steel tanks before bottling. It is light red in colour, with raspberry and strawberry and a touch of spice on the nose. The palate is fresh and lively, followed by plenty of fruit and an elegant finish. It works as an aperitif, with sorbet or on its own.
