Pfaffl Wien.1 Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Blanc

Wien.1 is a white wine from Pfaffl, blended from 60% Riesling, 20% Grüner Veltliner and 20% Pinot Blanc. The grapes come from the Herrenholz and Praschen vineyards, on a plateau overlooking Vienna with soils of limestone and sand. The vines are around 17 years old. After destemming and pressing, the must ferments at 18°C in stainless steel, and the wine is aged in steel too. Riesling brings freshness and fruit, Pinot Blanc adds body and Grüner Veltliner contributes spice. Peach, pepper, nuts and apple run through both nose and palate.
