Pike Creek 10 Year Old Finished in Rum Barrels (70cl, 42%)

Pike Creek 10 Year Old is a Canadian blended whisky in a 70cl bottle at 42%. After ageing in oak casks it is finished in former rum barrels, which add sweet impressions of molasses and vanilla. The casks mature in Ontario without artificial climate control, so they go through hot summers and cold winters, and the changing conditions shape the exchange between wood and whisky. The nose is led by pale raisins and brown sugar, with dried orange peel, green apple and vanilla. Toffee, honeycomb, molasses and vanilla meet lasting rye spice on the palate, and the finish is warming and soft.
