Pinhook Bohemian Bourbon High Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 2020 Vintage (75cl, 57.3%)

Pinhook Bohemian Bourbon High Proof is the 2020 vintage of the brand's annual high proof bourbon, and its first made entirely from its own Kentucky distillate. It was distilled, aged and bottled at Castle and Key, the revived Old Taylor Distillery in Frankfort, and is bottled unfiltered at 114.5 proof (57.25%). The mash bill is 75 percent corn, 15 percent rye and 10 percent malted barley. The 100 barrels were aged more than 34 months in new charred oak, then blended and proofed by co founder Sean Josephs. Pinhook names each release after a young racehorse, and this one honours Bohemian Bourbon, a bay filly. The nose has tangerine, preserved lemon and brioche with candy corn sweetness. The palate brings dried papaya, toffee, cocoa and almond.
