Pinhook Ryed On is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey from the 2020 vintage, the first Pinhook release to use the brand's own rye mashbill. It was distilled and aged for just over two years in new charred oak at Castle and Key Distillery in Frankfort, then bottled at 97 proof (48.5%) without chill filtration.
The vintage is named after the colt Ryed On, and the label carries his details in the style of a racing record.
The nose is peach, spearmint and cinnamon with fresh apple and a floral lift. On the palate come cherry, toffee and clove, sweet and toasty with vanilla and gentle baking spice. The finish is moderate in length, with lingering toasted rye and soft spice.
