Plantation Barbados Maury Wine Cask Finish 2011 (70cl)

This is a Barbados rum from Plantation, distilled on the island and first matured in its tropical climate. It then moves to France to finish in casks that previously held Maury, a natural sweet wine. The nose is ripe fruit, plum, raisin, cocoa and sweet spice, with vanilla and toasted wood behind. The palate is soft and well balanced, with caramel, dried fruit and dark chocolate. The finish is long and warm, with a return of fruit and spice. It suits sipping neat.
