Port hogshead
A 10 year old Port Charlotte single malt from Islay, distilled in 2005 and bottled by Douglas Laing in its Old Particular range. It comes from a single Port cask, DL11030, and 445 bottles were produced at 48.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Port Charlotte is the heavily peated malt made at Bruichladdich, with a peating level of around 40ppm. The Port hogshead has given this bottling a striking colour. The nose is distinctly Islay and leathery at first, then warms into full, barley-sweet fruit. The palate has sugar and dark fruit up front, backed by soot and coal dust. The finish is spiced, with cereal, tobacco, liquorice ash and smoke.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
