Port Charlotte An Turas Mòr is a peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, peated to 40ppm and bottled at 46%, in a 70cl bottle. The name is Gaelic for 'The Great Journey', a nod to Jim McEwan's search for a peated whisky with the identity of the distillery.
It is a vatting of several vintages from 2002 to 2005, bottled from 2010 to 2012. Maturation took place mainly in bourbon casks, with some virgin oak and Pedro Ximenez casks.
The finish is long, with notes of peat, earth, flowers, citrus and honey.
