An Islay single malt from Port Charlotte, distilled at Bruichladdich Distillery from barley grown on Islay. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 50% ABV.
The whisky matured for 7 years, mainly in ex-bourbon casks, with some virgin oak and ex-Bordeaux wine casks.
The nose is rich, with malted biscuits, peat, vanilla, honey, toffee and crème brûlée, followed by melon, grapefruit, peach and apple, with peat smoke, nutmeg and cinnamon. The palate starts fresh, then moves to sweet ripe fruit and peat smoke, with mineral notes, toasted oak, heather, coconut, marzipan and tobacco. The finish is balanced, with stone fruit, barbecue and toasted oak.
