Port Charlotte PC8 Ar Dùthchas (70cl, 60.5%)

Port Charlotte PC8 Ar Dùthchas is the fourth official release in the Port Charlotte series, which is numbered by age. It is a peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, in a 70cl bottle. It was matured for eight years in American oak and bottled between 2009 and 2011 without reduction, at 60.5%, in an outturn of 30,000 bottles. Ar Dùthchas is Gaelic, evoking heritage, roots and attachment to one's land. The character is rich and fruity yet firmly peated, and the finish is long, smoky, peppery and saline, with ash, peat and toasted wood.
