Port Charlotte Scottish Barley is a heavily peated Islay single malt from the Bruichladdich team, developed by master distiller Jim McEwan. It is peated to 40ppm and bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was sold without an age statement between 2013 and 2017.
The barley is entirely Scottish. Three quarters of the whisky matured in American casks and the rest in French wine casks. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
On the palate it is creamy and round, with clear peat alongside citrus zest, sea salt, white fruit, vanilla and floral notes.
