A 32-year-old Islay single malt from Port Ellen, distilled in 1979 and bottled in 2011 as the 11th release in Diageo's annual Special Releases series. It comes in a 70cl bottle at a cask strength of 53.9% ABV. The whisky matured in American and European oak casks, and 2988 bottles were produced. The nose pairs earthy, ashy peat smoke with iodine, tar and sea salt, over raisins, figs, prunes, vanilla and caramel. The palate is full-bodied, with the smoke balanced by dark cherries, blackberries and figs. The finish is long, as the peat fades into warmth with a briny edge.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
