Proper No. Twelve is an Irish blend of triple distilled single malt and grain whiskeys, made at Bushmills and bottled at 40% abv in a 70cl bottle. The whiskeys spend at least four years in charred ex-bourbon oak casks before they are married.
Conor McGregor launched it in 2018 with Eire Born Spirits, working with master distiller David Elder. The name points to Crumlin in Dublin 12, where he grew up.
Baked apple, ripe sweet berries and honey lead the nose, with floral notes, vanilla and caramelised pear. The palate is soft and balanced, with vanilla, honey, toasted wood and cocoa. The finish is warming and creamy, with toffee, oak and caramel.
