Queen Margaret Finest is a whisky aged over 3 years, from the Union Whisky Company, in a 75cl bottle at 43% ABV and dating from the 1960s.
The nose is clearly vanilla and sweet, with soft caramel, toffee, heather honey and a light background of ripe stone fruit, alongside the sharper edge of young grain.
The palate opens smooth with some spirit vigour, then shows molasses, raisins, subtle oak spice and toasted malt. The finish is short to medium, dry and woody, with a residual sugary touch.
