Boxergrail is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey from Rabbit Hole, made as a nod to Louisville's boxing heritage. The mash bill is 95% rye and 5% malted barley.
It is aged in deeply toasted and charred new American oak barrels from Kelvin Cooperage and bottled at 95 proof. It is never chill-filtered, so it keeps its natural oils and a thick, full-bodied texture.
The nose has fresh rye grass, warm butterscotch, citrus and toasted oak. The palate brings black pepper and cinnamon with caramel, vanilla cream and a hint of black tea, and the finish is long and warm, with spicy rye grain and sweet wood.
