Rabbit Hole Heigold is a Kentucky straight bourbon named after Christian Heigold, a 19th-century German stonecutter who settled in Louisville. The high-rye mash bill is 70% corn, 25% malted German rye and 5% malted barley, and the spirit is aged in heavily toasted and charred barrels from Kelvin Cooperage. It is bottled at 95 proof.
The nose has toasted malt, warm baking spices, dark cherry and a hint of butterscotch. The palate is chewy and full-bodied, with butterscotch, vanilla cream, bright citrus and peppery rye spice. The finish is long and dry, with cinnamon, almond and toasted oak.
