Aglianico del Vulture DOC from Re Manfredi, presented in a Magnum. Grown on the volcanic soils of Vulture in Basilicata, it has an intense, deep red colour with garnet reflections as it ages. The nose offers blackberry, currant, spice, leather and vanilla from barrique ageing. On the palate it is powerful yet balanced, with structured tannins, lively acidity, mature red fruit, earthy and spicy notes and a long, warm finish. It suits roasts, game and aged cheeses.
