Rebel 100 is a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon made at the Lux Row Distillery in Bardstown. The mash bill is corn, wheat and malted barley, and the whiskey is aged in new charred American oak barrels. Wheat takes the place of rye, which gives a softer profile.
It uses the same recipe as the brand's 80-proof bourbon but is bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof), in a 750ml bottle.
The nose is sweet, with honey, vanilla and caramel, oak and stone fruit. The palate has toffee, buttered corn and black pepper, with gingerbread and chocolate-chip cookie notes. The finish is long, dry and warming, with cinnamon, vanilla pod and white chocolate.
