Redbreast 12 Year Old is a single pot still Irish whiskey, distilled at Midleton from malted and unmalted barley. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
Maturation is in a combination of American oak bourbon barrels and Spanish oak Oloroso sherry butts.
The nose is nutty, rich and oily, with dried peel, ginger, linseed and cut fruit including a touch of melon. The palate is spicy and full-bodied, with nuts, citrus, marzipan and dried fruit, and the finish is long and creamy with custard and spice.
