Redbreast 21 Year Old is a single pot still Irish whiskey from Midleton Distillery in County Cork, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It is bottled without chill filtration.
The mash combines malted and unmalted barley, and the spirit is triple distilled in copper pot stills. It then matures for 21 years in a mix of first-fill oloroso sherry casks and bourbon barrels.
Tasting notes describe a nose of dried mango, toasted oak, marzipan and aged leather above warm spice, honeycomb and orange peel. The palate brings tropical fruit, nutmeg, vanilla and sweet sherry with roasted nuts, toffee, coffee and dark chocolate. The finish is long, with spice, fruitcake, dry oak and soft sherry.
