Redbreast 'Lustau Edition' is a single pot still Irish whiskey from County Cork, made in collaboration between Midleton and Bodegas Lustau. It was matured for 9 to 12 years in bourbon and sherry casks, then finished for a year in first-fill Spanish oak Oloroso butts. It is bottled at 46%.
The nose offers baked apple, dates, leather, dunnage earth, black liquorice and raspberry jam, with cinnamon and walnut. On the palate come baked citrus, honey, clove, damson and glace cherry, in an oily, silky texture. The finish is long, with dark fruit, spice, walnut and Oloroso sweetness.
