This is the first release in Rémy Martin's Time Collection, which marks 1874, the year Paul-Émile Rémy Martin created Louis XIII. It is a cognac in a 75cl crystal decanter, inspired by an ancient royal flask unearthed near Jarnac.
The blend draws on up to 1,200 eaux-de-vie, all from Grande Champagne, each aged between 40 and 100 years in Limousin oak.
The colour is deep amber with golden hues. The nose is rich, with dried fruits, honey and floral notes. The palate is smooth and balanced, with figs, dates and a hint of spice. The finish is long, with a touch of sweetness.
