Rhum J.M VSOP Rhum Vieux Agricole is an aged rum from Martinique, produced in Macouba at a distillery founded in 1845 on the northern slopes of Mount Pelée. Unlike molasses-based rum, it is distilled directly from freshly pressed sugarcane juice grown on the estate and surrounding fields. Fermented cane juice is distilled in a traditional Creole column still.
For the VSOP expression the rum ages for a minimum of four years in oak barrels, combining re-charred bourbon barrels and new toasted American oak. It is bottled at 43% ABV and carries the AOC Martinique designation.
