Rittenhouse Straight Rye is a 100 proof rye whisky bottled at 50%, made in Kentucky by Heaven Hill. Straight rye is made from at least 51 per cent rye, and this one is aged for a minimum of four years in oak casks.
It has an amber colour and is described as having touches of fresh bread, caramel and brown sugar, with smoky and woody influence from the casks. The 100 proof version was named best North American whisky at the 2006 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
