A single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from River Roots, aged for 8 years and released for Halloween 2026. It is one of 177 bottles from a single #4 char American oak barrel, bottled at 53.68% in a 75cl bottle.
The mashbill is 30% Blue Clarage corn, 30% Yellow Leaming corn, 26% Balboa rye and 14% two-row malted barley. The barrel was made from staves air-dried for 24 months, toasted and then given a #4 char, and the whiskey went into it at 103 proof.
The nose offers strawberry, citrus, cedar and clove over brown sugar and vanilla. Molasses, butterscotch, caramel, banana, allspice and toasted oak make up the palate, and the finish of oak, caramelised sugar and baking spice stays warm.
