Roederer Estate L'Ermitage Brut Rosé 2015 Anderson Valley (75cl)

This is the 2015 L'Ermitage Brut Rosé, the prestige rosé sparkling wine from Roederer Estate in Anderson Valley. It is a Chardonnay and Pinot Noir blend, and is made only in vintages judged exceptional. Its colour and berry character come from 3.5% red Pinot Noir, made by skin contact maceration in the Burgundian manner and added to the blend. This gives a more perfumed, fruit-forward wine than the standard L'Ermitage Brut. The nose shows pink cotton candy, ripe apricot, red apple peel, rose petal and strawberry. On the palate come candied peach, blood orange, lemon, gingerbread and spice, and a touch of wet chalk on an elegant finish.
