Rowan's Creek (70cl, 50%)

Rowan's Creek is a Kentucky bourbon aged for four years and two months. It is in a 70cl bottle at 50.05% ABV, which is 100.1 proof. It matured in new charred American white oak casks and was bottled by hand in small batches by the Rowan's Creek Distillery, with the cask number stated. The colour is amber with a golden core. It won a gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, most recently in 2011. Roasted nuts, vanilla, maple syrup, pear and lemon show on the nose. The palate is lightly peppery with mild spice, caramel, leather and ripe peaches, a little smoky but not dry. The finish is long and soft, with delicate fruit.
