A 24-year-old single cask rum from Guadeloupe, distilled in 1998 at Bellevue Le Moule from molasses using a column still. It spent 7 years in French oak on Guadeloupe and a further 17 years in American white oak in Liverpool, and was bottled in 2022 at 51.5% vol. The outturn was 265 bottles.
It has a deep dark amber colour, with aromas of wood polish, tar, orange marmalade, stewed pears and charred oak. The palate is buttery, with wood, citrus, orange blossom and rich molasses. The finish is long and complex, with marzipan, petrol, tar and a wisp of smoke.
