This is Royal Lochnagar 12 Year Old, a single malt in a 70cl bottle at 40% ABV. The distillery was once visited by Queen Victoria while she was staying at nearby Balmoral.
The nose is creamy and aromatic, with hay, malted barley, oak and mixed peel. The palate has soft smoke, gingerbread, toasty spices, Demerara sugar and boiled sweets.
The finish centres on grass and honey, and the whisky is described overall as a sweet, summery dram.
