A 16-year-old Royal Lochnagar from the 2021 Special Release series, bottled at 57.5% ABV.
The nose is soft and rounded, with orange peel and green apple, a hint of puff pastry, and a mossy, lightly woody base. A little water brings out firm white grapes and spice. The palate is creamy and barley-sugar sweet, with a fruity tartness in the middle and a developing oaky dryness. The finish is warming, with lingering white pepper and light woody spice.
