Royal Salute The Coronation of King Charles III Edition (70cl, 52.3%)

This is a blended Scotch whisky from Royal Salute, made for the coronation of King Charles III. The brand was first created as a gift for Queen Elizabeth II on the day of her Coronation in 1953. Master Blender Sandy Hyslop blended more than 53 malt and grain whiskies, and the edition was released in only 500 bottles worldwide at 52.3% ABV. It comes in a sapphire blue Dartington Crystal decanter, inspired by the stones of the Imperial State Crown, inside a wooden box modelled on Westminster Abbey. The nose has redcurrants, strawberry jam, banoffee pie, dark chocolate praline, roasted chestnuts, clove and a hint of charred pineapple. The palate brings poached pears, figs, toffee, hazelnut chocolate and ginger, cinnamon and clove, and the finish is long and rich with spice.
