A single cask rum distilled in 2010 at Trinidad Distillers Limited (TDL) and bottled by Rumclub. It matured for 16 years in total, first for 14 years in tropical conditions in Trinidad and then for two more years in continental Europe, in a former American white oak Bourbon cask. Bottled at natural cask strength without additives, it is limited to 395 bottles.
The nose brings ripe tropical fruits, vanilla, caramel and fine Bourbon oak, with candied citrus, roasted nuts and subtle spices. The palate is powerful and complex, with vanilla, caramel, exotic fruits, spicy oak, dark chocolate, leather and fresh mint. The finish is long, warming and intense, with dark chocolate, oak spice and lasting sweetness.
