Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 48 Germany 2013 (50cl, 52.3%)

A German single cask rum distilled in February 2013 by Severin Simon at Simon's Feinbrennerei in Alzenau. It was made from fair-transported molasses, fermented with Champagne yeast and distilled in a dedicated rum still. The rum matured for eight years in German Spessart oak, formerly a Spätburgunder cask, then three years in an ex-Sherry Cream cask, with a three-month finish in a TDL rum cask from Trinidad. After eleven years of ageing, 254 bottles were released. It shows deep notes with pronounced sweetness, yellow fruit and fermented grapes on the nose, roasted almond, dried fruit and oak on the palate, and a very soft, long finish.
