This is the second release of Sagamore Spirit's Rum Cask Finish Rye Whiskey, part of its Reserve Series, bottled at 49% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The series celebrates the legacy of Maryland distilling.
Straight rye whiskies aged for 5 and 6 years were given a further 10 months in hand-selected rum barrels from South America and Jamaica, then blended back together.
The Jamaican barrels add ripe banana and bright pineapple. The South American barrels bring rich vanilla and brûléed sugar, alongside the spice of the rye.
