Salon Le Mesnil Blanc de Blancs Brut 2013 Champagne (75cl)

Salon Le Mesnil 2013 is a Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne made entirely from Chardonnay. It was cellared for ten years before release. The 2013 season brought a cold, long spring and heavy rain at budburst, then intense summer heat and sunshine, with hail in scattered vineyards. Picking in the Salon plots began on 1st October, with strict selection and a yield of 13,000 kg per hectare. The Chardonnays showed good alcoholic content and excellent acidity. In the glass it is golden with green glints. The nose offers white blossom, linden flower, jasmine and bergamot zest over chalky minerality. The palate is rich and balanced, with baked apple, toasted hazelnut and salted butter caramel, and a mouth-watering, chalky finish.
