This is a single malt from Caol Ila, bottled in Scotland in 2023 by Samaroli as its Islay edition. It was vatted from three casks distilled in 2013, all refill bourbon hogsheads, and 1,104 bottles were filled at 45% ABV.
The nose shows a slight peatiness with yeast, butter and smoked meats, followed by almond, hazelnut and candied fruit. A saline character runs alongside, with suggestions of herring and anchovy and a mineral edge.
