Il Conte di Covignano is a Sangiovese Superiore Riserva from the San Valentino winery in Emilia Romagna, made from 100% Sangiovese grown organically on the Covignano hills.
Fermentation is natural, in steel with indigenous yeasts. The wine then ages for 16 to 18 months in concrete, large wooden casks and second-passage barriques.
It is ruby red with purple hints. The nose offers intense red fruit, aromatic thyme, floral notes and a touch of spice. On the palate it has good vigour and velvety tannins, leading to a persistent finish.
