Sanchez Romate Oloroso Sherry (75cl, 18%)

Sanchez Romate Oloroso is a dry, full-bodied sherry from Jerez, made from Palomino Fino and bottled at 18% in a 75cl bottle. It is aged oxidatively from the start, with no flor, for at least five years in solera in American oak casks. The bodega was founded in 1781 by Juan Sanchez de la Torre and remains independently owned by the family. It owns vineyards on Jerez's albariza soils and ages its wines in cellars in the centre of the city. The colour runs from bright old gold to mahogany, with a deep, fragrant aroma. The palate is dry and full-bodied, layered with oak and nut flavours and hints of almond.
