Santa Cristina Vin Santo del Valdichiana 2021 (37.5cl, 14%)

This is a 2021 Tuscan dessert wine from Valdichiana, made by Santa Cristina in a 37.5cl bottle. It is a blend of Trebbiano Toscano and Malvasia, picked ripe and air-dried to concentrate the sugars before pressing. The must is fermented and aged for several years in small oak casks, where slow oxidation gives the amber colour and nutty character. The nose offers dried apricot, golden raisin and honey with toasted almond and hazelnut. The palate is rich and silky, with fig, apricot compote and honeyed citrus held by gentle acidity. The finish is long, with dried fruit, roasted nuts and honey.
