Scallywag Speyside Blended Malt is a blend of Speyside single malts from Douglas Laing, and this is the 2023 edition. The label shows a Fox Terrier beneath the Northern Lights.
The whisky was aged in oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry butts, then bottled at 52.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle with no colour added and no chill-filtration.
Figs and dates lead the nose, with chocolate-covered nuts, cinnamon and vanilla latte. The palate brings sweet poached fruits, nutty malt, dulce de leche, robust oak and a little clove. Baking spice and sherried fruit linger on the finish.
