Scallywag Winter Edition 2022 is a cask strength blended malt from Douglas Laing, part of its Remarkable Regional Malts series. It is a Speyside blend of single malts matured mainly in sherry casks, bottled at 54% without added colouring or chill filtration.
The label shows the Scallywag fox in festive dress.
The nose has spiced fruitcake, rich sherry and cocoa dust, with a hint of orange peel. The palate is bold and velvety, with dark chocolate, stewed plums, cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is long, warming and sweet, with lingering Christmas spices and a touch of roasted nuts.
