Scapa 10 Year Old is an unpeated single malt from Scapa Distillery on Orkney. It is matured for 10 years in American oak casks and bottled at 48% ABV, non-chill filtered.
The distillery was founded in 1885 on the shores of Scapa Flow near Kirkwall, and its spirit is made using a Lomond-style wash still.
The nose offers fresh pineapple, mango ice cream, crème brûlée and honeyed pancakes, with cinnamon buns and a little citrus. On the palate come stewed apples, ripe peaches, warming spices, vanilla custard and soft banana. The finish is toasted oak with milk chocolate.
